NetSpot Pro overview
NetSpot Pro is a simple and accessible wireless survey tool for Mac users, which allows collecting, visualizing and analyzing Wi-Fi data using any MacBook.
NetSpot Pro can visualize your wireless network by building a visual Wi-Fi map. It will let you see dead zones without coverage and place hotspots (Access Points) correctly. Using the visualized map of collected wireless data you will also see channels' load and will be able to decide how to optimize your Wi-Fi site better.
NetSpot Pro is a powerful analyzer of Wi-Fi coverage. Just in a couple of clicks you can load your area map, point your location on the map and NetSpot Pro starts collecting Wi-Fi data around you. It will gather all the needed information for radio signal leakages analyzing, noise sources discovering, access points effective location, etc.
You can also use NetSpot Pro as a powerful wireless network planning tool. Load a map, collect wireless site survey data, build a heatmap of your network and you are ready to build the optimal configuration of a new Wi-Fi network and wise radio channels usage with minimal signal to noise ratio.

Now what? Prices for v6.x: (1) There's still a FREE version at the dev site. Expect upgrade nagging. This may be adequate for individual purposes. (2) NetSpot Pro: Lifetime license: $289. (3) Annual subscription alternative: $189. (4) Enterprise version: $989 or $699 annual subscription. (5) Pro has a 7-day trial, but you have to request the temporary activation code by forking over your business information. - - That's it! No Home version any more.

A LOT is going on regarding the UPGRADE to v3. I'll number the items: (I) The upgrade web page is poorly coded (hopefully now fixed?), providing literally NO method of upgrading. I had a good back-and-forth with Support about it. TEMPORARY FIX: Send a message to Support letting them know you want the 50% upgrade. They will send you a DISCOUNT COUPON CODE for 50% off full price. There's small type on the screwed up purchase page labeled "ADD DISCOUNT" that lets you get to the coupon code entry box. That's bad coding, again, but it's there. (II) NEW PRICES: The PRO version is now $199. The upgrade price, before tax, is $99.50. (III) You may find the new Pro v3 is far more than you need. IF that is the case, you can instead purchase the HOME version upgrade instead. It's upgrade price is $29.50 before taxes. (PS) Their Support were super nice to me! That helped. /Research dissertation 😓

I purchased NetSpot believing in all the marketing hype which was my mistake. This is the worst app I have ever paid for with its limited functionality and awful UI. Then they want you to pay for additional functionality which should have been in the product to begin with. Mobile phone apps I have do a better job than NetSpot. Also buyers be aware, they will not honor any refund request nor will paddle.com who waste your time going around and around and then wont provide a refund! Dont make the same mistake, save your money and buy something better!!!
